Unlike Capitol Reef, I'd definitely heard of Arches before and despite the name, it did not prepare me for the sheer number of arches in the park. Everything from small intimate arches to large scale monstrosities. I did miss the quiet and relative tourist-lessness of Capitol Reef. Delicate arch, a Utah icon, blew me away. It sits, isolated on the top of a cliff and although I'd seen pictures of it many times before, it was spectacular in person.
