Amazing Race: Part 2- Zion National Park- Mar 12, 2012

So Zion National Park was our first destination after Kim and I reunited in Vegas.  And it turned out to be one of my favorites of all the amazing parks we visited.  It started out rainy/snowy our first night, but we persevered and hiked ~2.2 miles the first night and slept in the cold, wet drip of our tent...but it was beautiful and sunny the rest of our time.  On Day 2, we hiked the lower, middle, and upper Emerald Pools before heading up the treacherous, still snow-covered trail up to Angel's Landing totalling 12 miles hiking for the day.  Still want to hike the Narrows and Subway next time I go.  Dry season it will have to be.

Wicked!- Mar 31, 2012

After missing Wicked in Cincinnati intern year, I was so excited for the opportunity to see it here in Portland.  Lisa, Ashley, Kevin and I prepped with happy hour before heading to the show.  Totally worth it.  Loved the music, pretty funny performers, and overall fun to get dressed up and go out on the town.

Rock Chalk Final Four- Mar 25, 2012

Since I didn't know any Jayhawks in Boston, I went to my first alumni watch parties yet to watch the Jayhawks battle in the first 2 rounds of the tournament to get to the Final Four.  It was so fun to watch with my fellow dedicated fans...especially since we defied all preseason expectations and made it to Nola!

Boston Symphony- Mar 25, 2012

The building randomly had free tickets to the Boston Symphony Chamber Players, so Lisa and I took advantage and walked the 2 minutes to the beautiful Jordan Hall at the New England Conservatory and were treated to a beautiful set of Russian and Czech music.  The soprano was amazing and it was a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

A Walk Around Backbay- Mar 24, 2012

It's been an early spring in Boston and so the Oregon crew-- Dave, Gina, Mike, and Lisa-- had lunch at my place and then took a walk around the Hood.  First we window shopped on Newbury Street, then took a turn around Boston's Public Garden, and then along the Charles River which has been my running spot this month.  It was a gorgeous day, though 20 degrees colder than the day before.  Good times and good people.

Boston- Mar 1-31, 2012

My month in Boston was made much easier by the amazing place I stayed.  Sheila's sister's friend Adam was gracious enough to let me stay at his place for the month and it was fantastic.   Definitely couldn't afford the place on my own.  A 25 minute peaceful walk to work at Children's Hospital Boston in the CICU, a gorgeous view out of the panoramic view from the apartment in the heart of Boston's Backbay.  Who could ask for more.

Vancouver Girls Weekend- Feb 17-20, 2012

So girls weekend was a ton of fun.  Lisa, Jessyka, and I left Friday night after work and stopped in Seattle for a night on the town.  So good that at one point Jess was running barefoot in downtown Seattle.  After our night out, we headed to Vancouver.  Crazy that I haven't been to Canada yet.  Anyway, we watched the Canucks demolish the Maple Leafs at a local bar, walked around the waterfront, biked Stanley Park, and ate a tone of good food.  It's awesome being so close to so many cool places and having a couple fun girls with whom to explore.
