Labor Day in Bend- Sept 1-3, 2012

Labor day weekend is one of the most beautiful weekends weather-wise in Oregon, so Brandy and I took advantage with a trip to Bend for the long weekend.  We rented a cabin in Sunriver and Mogli came along and enjoyed the sun with us.  We tooled around downtown Bend, hiked, and saw Sisters too.  The hike, South Sister, was grueling and one of the hardest hikes I've ever done.  It's a strenuous 5000m gain in one mile on Scree (volcanic ash with the footing of sand).  Had to take a few breathers and my legs were dying the next day but it was so worth it.  We saw the peaks of both Middle and North Sister and it was a clear, beautiful day.
