Visiting Missy!- Jan 13, 2012

It's been too long since I've seen Missy so it was awesome to get to see her on our Denver trip.  We stayed in her Frisco condo Thursday night and then snowshoed Friday to the Sallie Barber Mine.  It was pretty cool to see these mountain mines still standing after nearly a century of neglect.

Snowboarding Mt. Hood- Dec 31, 2011

So Ashley and I made it out to Mt. Hood for the first time, taking a beginner's snowboard lesson with the kiddos...who totally blew us away.  No worries though, because the fresh powder cushioned our falls.

NYE 2011- Dec 31, 2011

While it took a lot of motivation to get myself out of the house after being on service this month, I made it out and I'm glad I did.  We went to Bubbers house and had a low key celebration for the New Year.  Maybe my New Years resolution should be to get out more.  Nah.

Ugly Sweater Rounds- Dec 23, 2011

So Jenny and Megan, my subspecialty residents, had a fantastic idea to have ugly sweater rounds the Friday before Xmas.  Now who doesn't want to look ridiculous at work?

Cheese Fest 2011- Dec 16, 2011

Amy had one of the best ideas of the year when she set up Cheese Fest 2011 in the echo lab.  Everyone brought a cheese and the competition was on.  While it was delicious, I could no really differentiate or remember any of them specifically.  Ah well, all winners to me.

Holiday Ale Festival- Nov 30, 2011

Portland is a great beer town and the Holiday Ale Fest is a great example of it's splendour.  Everything from Barry White's Voice, and Drunken Elf Frost.  Over 50 beers and a ton of cheer is a great start to the holidays.

Salt and Straw!

So one of my favorite places in Portland is Salt and Straw.  Lisa and I discovered it a few months ago and we've probably tried 30 or so flavors.  Delicious flavors like Pear and Blue Cheese, gingerbread, duckfat caramel, etc.  My favorite is definitely the sea salt caramel.  We love it so much that we even bought t-shirts.
